Studying (and tips)

I guess we all had that 'study week' before the exams. There are people who procrastinate and never really do work. There are people who study 1 year beforehand. Ask yourself a question: Which one am I? Here are my thoughts on studying and how you can do it properly.

A clean table is key. Take 2-5 minutes to organise yourself before studying. Organise loose papers, books, pencils or pens (or any mess.) This should get you a little more encouraged to study.

I find that working with friends is best for me. You can check answers, not get bored easily, get more work done if you split it up and learn from each other about any doubts. This strategy will not work for everyone. The side effects may be: getting distracted, both of you not doing work, not getting along well. I would recommend trying to work in a study group to see if it works for you!

Planning and organisation. Planning is a big part of studying because your time will become more precious by the minute. For example, a project due in a week may seem like it's not due for a year. The day beforehand you'll be rushing. Which means not completing the project to the best of your ability, stressing yourself out, not having time to do other work or duties or possible failing the subject. See how precious time was in this scenario? Timetables! Keep one everywhere. On your table, in your pocket, school lockers or anywhere. It will remind you what time you have to start and finish your work. If you follow the timetable you can finish in time. Then...' Netflix and chill'. (Don't watch Netflix if you're supposed to be studying or you're supposed to revise more.)

Stay in touch with your subject teacher. It's okay to ask for help from your teacher. They don't bite! (I checked.) You can clarify anything you're not sure. If you are unsure, send an email or talk to you're teacher. It's better than not knowing and never knowing the answer.

My last tip for your studying is don't study (24/7.) Don't burn yourself out with studying or you won't have a minute to step outside for 1 minute to breath fresh air. Go out for at least 10 minutes and do some running or walking.

Hopefully, you can use some of these tips when you study! Head to the feedback page
